The General Authority of Civil Aviation reported that the attack on King Khalid International Airport killed 12 people including four Saudi citizens and eight foreigners. The authority’s figures show two Bangladeshis were among the foreign dead along with one national each from Egypt the United States Jordan Syria Palestine and Sudan. A total of 309 people were injured with some in critical condition and receiving treatment at several hospitals according to the same statement which also noted property damage still under assessment.

Egyptian media identified the Egyptian victim as 28-year-old Azza Ramzi Mohamed Hassan a flight attendant for flynas who sustained severe injuries in the airport terminal. Reports indicated she had been preparing for her wedding in the coming days at the time of the incident. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry confirmed her death in a statement released the following day.

According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry the death of Hassan prompted expressions of deep sorrow and condolences to her family. Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty directed the Egyptian embassy and consulate in Riyadh to support the family and expedite repatriation of her body. The ministry separately noted that five other Egyptians suffered injuries ranging from mild to moderate in the same attack.

A diplomatic source attributed the strike to a missile fired by Yemen’s Houthi movement marking the third such incident at the airport in a single week. The Saudi-led coalition described the attack as a violation of international norms that would draw a measured response in line with established rules. The Houthis had not issued a claim of responsibility for the October 10 strike by late Saturday according to available accounts.

The assault forced temporary suspension of operations at King Khalid International Airport resulting in widespread flight cancellations and diversions. EgyptAir halted services from Cairo and Alexandria to Riyadh until safety checks concluded and normal activity resumed. Other regional carriers implemented similar adjustments to protect passenger safety during the assessment period.

The General Authority of Civil Aviation did not name individual victims in its initial release but confirmed the multinational scope of the casualties. Hospitals across Riyadh continued to manage the influx of injured individuals with several cases remaining critical days after the event. Egyptian officials maintained close coordination with Saudi counterparts to address the needs of affected nationals throughout the process.
