The announcement was made in Dammam and is based on guidance from the Ministry of Energy. The product will be rolled out in phases depending on demand, allowing the company to respond to market signals. Saudi Aramco confirmed that the gasoline is tailored to the needs of sports vehicle users and engines that require higher octane ratings for optimal function. This addition aims to provide more choices to customers across the kingdom.

The new fuel is priced at SR2.88 per liter and will not impact the supply or pricing of existing gasoline products. According to reports citing the company, the launch diversifies Aramco’s product range while keeping all current options intact. The Saudi Press Agency detailed that the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to expand the variety of fuels available in the domestic market.

Initial distribution is focused on the three largest cities to gauge initial response before wider deployment. The phased strategy helps ensure that production and logistics can be scaled without interruption to regular fuel supplies. Aramco’s move comes amid a vehicle market that features an increasing variety of engine types and performance levels.

The energy producer is the main provider of gasoline in Saudi Arabia, where fuel standards are set to support both everyday and specialized transportation requirements. By introducing the 98-octane variant, the company is addressing a niche that has grown with the importation of more luxury and sports cars. The Saudi Press Agency noted that the product meets the specific technical demands of high-performance engines.

Coordination with the Ministry of Energy ensured that the new gasoline adheres to all regulatory standards before reaching fuel stations. The launch represents a direct response to consumer feedback regarding fuel options. Future expansion beyond the initial cities will be determined by sales data collected during the first months of availability.
