The ministry reported that Alswaha was joined by Communications, Space and Technology Commission Governor Haytham AlOhali and Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones Chairman Faisal AlKhamisi for the engagements. Initial talks took place with the Korea Software Industry Association, chaired by John Hee Jo, and involved representatives from multiple Korean software firms. The discussions covered potential partnerships in software, cloud computing, digital government services, system integration and digital talent development. Those sessions sought to identify concrete opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the digital domain.
According to the ministry, a key meeting occurred with Samsung Electronics leadership to delve into artificial intelligence, semiconductor technologies, digital infrastructure and 6G advancements. The conversations also addressed localization of technology and reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s role as an artificial intelligence hub in the Middle East. Samsung’s expertise in these areas was highlighted as particularly relevant to the Kingdom’s development priorities.
The ministry further detailed a session with SK Group Chairman and CEO Chey Tae-won. The discussions explored investments in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, data centers and broader digital infrastructure projects. Joint innovation programs to support the digital economy formed another focus of the dialogue. Officials examined ways to translate these talks into tangible collaboration agreements.
Wrapping the day’s activities, the Saudi delegation held discussions with additional investors and technology leaders to foster new partnerships and joint investment initiatives, the ministry stated. These meetings aimed to link Saudi innovation initiatives with specialized Korean knowledge in advanced technologies and software solutions. The outreach is part of ongoing international efforts to build a robust technology and innovation ecosystem in the Kingdom.
This visit continues a series of similar high-level engagements by Alswaha. Asharq Al-Awsat reported in October 2025 that the minister met with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and Intel chiefs in the United States to discuss artificial intelligence cooperation. Those earlier talks also made reference to potential contributions from Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix toward data center projects in the Kingdom. The cumulative diplomacy targets development of a comprehensive network of technology partnerships.
