The Saudi Press Agency reported that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who also serves as prime minister, received President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi at a private residence in Jeddah. The Egyptian president was on an official visit to the kingdom as part of a broader Gulf tour. A commemorative photograph was taken before the leaders held a closed meeting that later expanded to include official delegations from both countries.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the discussions focused on ways to strengthen cooperation in various sectors along with a range of Arab and Islamic issues. The two sides examined regional developments with particular attention to the repercussions of military escalation in the Middle East. They assessed the potential impact of these developments on both regional and global security and stability.

A statement from the Egyptian Presidency noted that the meeting occurred after President El-Sisi arrived at King Abdulaziz International Airport where he was received by the Crown Prince. The Saudi Press Agency added that the Crown Prince later accompanied the Egyptian president to the airport upon his departure from Jeddah. Such high-level exchanges build on a pattern of regular coordination between the two countries on shared priorities.

Zawya’s 2025 data placed the trade volume between Egypt and Saudi Arabia at 5.9 billion dollars in the first half of that year. The General Authority for Investment and Free Zones figures show Saudi investors have directed approximately 8.9 billion dollars into Egyptian projects over the past two decades, supporting around 8,000 companies. These economic bonds complement the political alignment between Riyadh and Cairo.

Trading Economics data indicated that remittances from Egyptian workers in Saudi Arabia hit a record 13.5 billion dollars in the first quarter of 2025. The Saudi Press Agency has highlighted in previous coverage that such flows represent a vital source of foreign currency for Egypt while deepening societal ties. Multiple economic assessments identify Saudi Arabia as one of Egypt’s primary investment and trade partners in the Arab world.

The Saudi Press Agency reported that the Crown Prince later chaired a cabinet session in which he briefed ministers on the outcomes of the Jeddah meeting with President El-Sisi. Earlier encounters between the two leaders, including an iftar hosted in Jeddah, had similarly covered developments on Arab and Islamic fronts according to Arab News. The two countries maintain regular high-level contacts to coordinate positions on pressing regional files.
