The Ministry of Energy said its inspection teams performed 10746 visits last month and identified 847 cases of non-compliance with rules governing petroleum and petrochemical materials along with the distribution of dry gas and liquefied petroleum gas for residential and commercial use. These breaches formed the core of the ministry’s latest enforcement findings. The ministry’s statement listed multiple categories among the infractions uncovered during the August campaign.

Key violations included operating petroleum or petrochemical activities without required licenses and selling LPG cylinders without proper authorization. Additional breaches involved failing to follow approved gas tariffs, using unlicensed carriers to transport or sell petroleum products and applying petroleum products for purposes other than those intended, according to the ministry. The ministry’s data placed all 847 cases within the framework of two specific laws covering these sectors.

According to the ministry the inspections aim to strengthen regulatory compliance and safeguard the security and reliability of petroleum and petrochemical supplies. The program also works to improve oversight and curb practices that could harm the market. The ministry operates 20 inspection branches across the Kingdom to manage these activities.

The ministry urged consumers to report any suspected violations by calling the toll-free number 1914 or using the Taqah application or the Tawakkalna platform. All reports are processed around the clock by the dedicated branches to ensure rapid response and effective handling of both routine cases and emergencies. This channel forms a central element of the ministry’s public engagement on compliance matters.

The ministry released comparable figures for July operations in an earlier statement. During that month the ministry’s teams completed 9263 visits and noted 964 infractions according to data published at the time. Both sets of results indicate the scale of the supervisory effort that the ministry maintains on a monthly basis.

The Ministry of Energy has conducted these inspection rounds consistently as part of its mandate to monitor the energy supply chain. Public Authority for Civil Information statistics show that Saudi Arabia’s population exceeds 32 million with significant demand for petroleum products and LPG in both urban and rural areas. The ministry’s enforcement actions address this demand by focusing on licensed operators and approved distribution methods.
