The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority released statistics showing that the Tawakkalna app has exceeded 30 billion total operations since its introduction seven years ago. Official figures from the authority indicate a daily rate of 88 million operations. The data reflect widespread adoption among citizens, residents and visitors who use the platform for secure access to a wide array of services. This update builds on the app’s role in the kingdom’s digital infrastructure.
Registered users of the app have reached more than 36.7 million according to the authority’s statistics. Daily active users now surpass 2.1 million. These users benefit from more than 1,800 digital services supplied by over 380 government, private sector and nonprofit entities. The platform combines these offerings into a single interface that allows access from any location.
The app’s digital wallet holds more than 800 types of official cards and documents, SDAIA figures show. Views of items in the wallet have topped 3.6 billion. The authority’s data further record more than 2.1 billion messages sent through the application to keep users informed. These functions have helped shift many procedures away from paper-based processes.
Tawakkalna initially launched in 2020 to support pandemic response measures including contact tracing and movement permits. A presentation by Dr. Esam Alwagait, director of the National Information Center at SDAIA, at the LEAP 26 conference in September noted monthly transactions averaging 4.4 billion with 13.3 million active users at that time. The latest authority statistics demonstrate further expansion in both users and transaction volumes. The growth corresponds to the digital transformation targets set under Saudi Vision 2030.
SDAIA’s e-service overview states that the application is available in 77 countries and supports seven languages. The authority has documented several awards for the platform, among them the United Nations Public Service Award and leading positions in the Digital Experience Maturity Index for government services. These recognitions cover the years 2022 through 2024. Additional partners from various sectors have joined to broaden the range of available functions.
The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority continues to incorporate new services into the Tawakkalna platform while enhancing its connections with other government systems. Recent efforts have included expanded features for pilgrims and international visitors. Authority statistics confirm ongoing rises in transaction volumes and user participation across multiple quarters.
