The Misk Foundation said in a statement that the Misk Global Forum will not take place in 2026 following a careful assessment of the organizational and logistical hurdles facing this year’s edition. The foundation noted that these challenges risked affecting the overall experience and the depth of impact it seeks to create for participants. It added that the move aligns with ongoing efforts to refine its methods for empowering young people through more effective channels.

According to the foundation’s statement the commitment to youth empowerment learning collaboration and development remains steadfast despite the cancellation. Young people will continue to benefit from Misk’s year-round programs and initiatives rather than a single annual gathering. The statement encouraged participants to engage with these opportunities via the Misk Hub platform as the primary avenue for involvement.

The Misk Global Forum had been positioned as the region’s premier youth event bringing together emerging leaders innovators and thinkers from across the world for dialogue and partnership building. Earlier promotions on the foundation’s channels described the 2026 edition as a legacy event marking a decade of momentum since the forum began and invited public input on potential themes. Past iterations including the 2025 gathering under the Created by Youth banner had already begun transitioning the program from a standalone summit into a sustained platform that launched eight separate initiatives focused on long-term youth development according to the official event site.

Misk Global shared the update through its official X account on October 12 directing followers to explore available programs as an immediate alternative to the canceled forum. The foundation has evolved its approach in recent years to emphasize continuous engagement over concentrated annual events a shift that previous editions helped accelerate. This year’s decision reflects that broader strategic adjustment while maintaining focus on global youth networks.

The Mohammed bin Salman Foundation known as Misk has organized the forum annually since its inception to foster idea exchange and collaborative projects among participants under 35. Listings ahead of the 2026 gathering had confirmed the dates as November 11 and 12 at Malfa Hall within Misk City in Riyadh with an emphasis on leadership simulations and interactive sessions. Despite the cancellation other major gatherings in the Saudi capital remain on schedule according to local event calendars.

In its announcement the foundation reiterated that the pause on the flagship forum does not signal reduced ambition but rather a deliberate choice to protect the integrity of its offerings. The Misk Hub now serves as the central hub for youth to access tailored programs in innovation entrepreneurship and leadership throughout the year. This structure has allowed the organization to extend its reach beyond the limitations of a single multi-day event while addressing the complexities that prompted the 2026 cancellation.
