Riyadh Governor Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz visited civilians injured in the Houthi militia attack on King Khalid International Airport, according to a statement from his office. During the Monday tour of several Riyadh hospitals, he conveyed the greetings of King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman along with their wishes for a swift recovery. The governor reaffirmed the leadership’s instructions to deliver comprehensive healthcare to everyone affected by the incident and received briefings on the current medical status of those under treatment.

The statement added that Prince Faisal bin Bandar directed medical teams to maintain close monitoring of the patients’ progress. He emphasized the need to ensure all required treatment and support continue without interruption until full recovery is achieved. This followed a similar inspection the previous day by Minister of Health Fahd Al-Jalajel, who also reviewed care standards at the facilities.

In the press statement Prince Faisal bin Bandar praised Saudi leadership for its work to maintain the Kingdom’s security and stability. He pointed to the solidarity shown by citizens and the preparedness of national armed forces in addressing threats. The governor ended by praying for Saudi Arabia to enjoy lasting security, prosperity and stability.

The General Authority of Civil Aviation put the toll from Saturday’s attack at 12 killed and 309 injured, with the dead comprising four Saudi nationals and eight expatriates from Bangladesh, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, Sudan and the United States. All injured parties received immediate transfer to hospitals across the capital for urgent care. The scale of the casualties has placed significant demands on the healthcare system in the aftermath.

This assault represented the third Houthi strike on King Khalid International Airport in the space of one week, Arab News reported. The Saudi Press Agency carried condemnations from a number of countries including the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Bahrain and Oman, all of which denounced the targeting of civilian aviation facilities. Officials from those nations expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and called for de-escalation in the region.

The Health Minister’s Sunday visit involved direct conversations with some of the injured, including an Omani doctor who had been at the airport preparing to fly to Jeddah for Umrah. Medical teams updated Fahd Al-Jalajel on treatment protocols and patient conditions during that tour. Such high-level attention reflects the priority assigned to recovery efforts for all victims regardless of nationality.
