The National Center for Meteorology released its summary of precipitation recorded across the Kingdom on Thursday, detailing amounts from the previous 24 hours. A center assessment found that the Abu Arish station in Jazan province registered 14.2 millimeters, exceeding all other locations monitored. The period covered measurements beginning at 9 a.m. on October 14 and concluding at 9 a.m. on October 15, corresponding to 4 Jumada al-Awwal 1448 in the Hijri calendar.

According to the National Center for Meteorology, the Jazan region saw additional rainfall at several stations though at lower levels than Abu Arish. The Al-Darb station logged 2.0 mm while Farasan recorded 1.6 mm during the interval. King Abdullah Airport in the province measured 1.0 mm and the Jazan Rawda station received 0.4 mm, the center’s data showed.

The National Center for Meteorology documented varied rainfall in the Makkah region over the same timeframe with Mina receiving the highest amount there at 4.6 mm. Stations along the Taif-Kar road saw 2.6 mm and both Al-Shubaykah and Muzdalifah logged 2.3 mm each. The central Haram area measured 2.1 mm according to the center while Ghazza and Al-Shara’i each recorded 1.7 mm.

Further readings from the National Center for Meteorology placed the Taif-Hada station at 1.0 mm and Umm Al-Qura University at 0.6 mm within the Makkah area. Al-Rasifa received 0.5 mm, Arafat saw 0.4 mm and several sites including Wadi Arna, Taif Al-Shafa and Al-Laith each had 0.2 mm. The Al-Ka’akiya station rounded out the measurements with 0.1 mm of rainfall.

The center’s report also noted precipitation in the Al-Baha region although specific station figures for that area were not detailed in the initial summary. Such daily updates from the National Center for Meteorology provide critical information for residents and authorities in managing weather-related impacts. Comparable assessments in prior months, including those highlighting higher accumulations in Jazan during 2025 according to the Saudi Press Agency, illustrate the variability of rainfall patterns in the southwestern provinces.
