The General Administration of Mujahideen reported that its southern Jazan patrols stopped a Saudi citizen who was transporting six Yemeni nationals in his vehicle after they had breached border security regulations. Authorities initiated legal procedures against everyone involved, referring the violators to the competent authority while sending the transporter to the Public Prosecution for further action. This enforcement reflects sustained operations along the kingdom’s southern frontier, where crossing attempts remain a persistent challenge for security forces. The administration has underscored that such transport activities directly compromise border integrity and public safety across the region.

A spokesperson for the General Administration of Mujahideen emphasized that facilitating entry of border security violators, transporting them, providing shelter or offering any assistance carries penalties of up to 15 years in prison together with a fine of up to one million Saudi riyals. Additional sanctions include confiscation of the vehicle used and public disclosure of the convicted individual’s identity. The spokesperson characterized the offense as a major crime, warning citizens against any involvement that could lead to these severe repercussions under Saudi law.

Saudi authorities reported arresting 14,970 individuals during a single week in July for violations of residency, labor and border security rules, with several thousand cases tied specifically to border infractions according to campaign summaries. The Jazan region, which shares a long boundary with Yemen, has figured prominently in these operations given its geographic exposure to cross-border movements. Data from the General Authority for Statistics indicated that more than 1.8 million Yemenis resided legally in the kingdom as of the 2022 census, illustrating the scale of regular migration alongside irregular attempts.

The General Administration of Mujahideen, operating under the Ministry of Interior, maintains a mandate rooted in the kingdom’s unification era and focuses on preventing unauthorized entry while coordinating with other security agencies. Recent campaigns have expanded to target not only direct violators but also local networks that enable their movement or concealment inside Saudi territory. Such coordinated efforts have produced consistent monthly totals of border-related detentions across multiple provinces.

The spokesperson urged the public to report any suspected violations of residency, work or border security regulations by dialing 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province or using 999 and 996 elsewhere in the country. All information received through these channels receives strict confidentiality protections, with no liability attached to those who come forward. This reporting system forms a key component of the administration’s strategy to maintain vigilance along Saudi Arabia’s borders.
