The Saudi Press Agency reported that the National Center for Security Operations received a total of 2,982,277 calls through the unified emergency number 911 during August in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province. Official figures from the agency break down the volume with Makkah registering 961,422 calls, Madinah 259,548 and Riyadh the highest at 1,189,199. The Eastern Province accounted for 572,108 calls, according to the data released this month. The unified operations centers operate with advanced automated systems that route incoming calls to the relevant security and service agencies based on jurisdiction. Specialized multilingual teams staff the centers around the clock to deliver accurate and professional responses at all times. The Saudi Press Agency noted that these teams maintain high standards in handling the substantial daily influx of requests. The National Center for Security Operations functions under the Ministry of Interior, where it monitors the security situation throughout Saudi Arabia. It coordinates directly with security authorities and other government bodies to manage emergencies in line with prevailing conditions. Similar monthly reports from the agency have detailed the center’s role in integrating responses across multiple agencies. Call volumes have remained consistent in recent periods, with the center logging 2,779,711 calls in July according to a prior Saudi Press Agency dispatch. Earlier figures placed June activity at 2,631,374 calls, a pattern that aligns with ongoing reliance on the 911 platform. The Saudi Press Agency has indicated that the service covers the four primary regions at present. Expansion plans are under way to broaden operations into additional parts of the kingdom in the near term. Such growth would extend the coordinated emergency framework to a wider segment of the population.
