The Saudi Business Center has rolled out a verification service for online stores through the Tawakkalna application. The feature, announced through official platform channels, enables consumers to assess the reliability of electronic retailers ahead of any transaction. Access occurs via the communications and technology services menu in the app, where users initiate a query to retrieve authenticated business details. This addition forms part of ongoing efforts to embed commercial safeguards into widely used digital tools.
Consumers can search using the e-commerce authentication certificate number, the unified national number for the entity, a freelance practitioner certificate, the store name or its web address. Results display the outlet’s documented status along with confirmation of its verification standing. The center’s announcement highlighted how the process delivers immediate clarity to guide purchasing choices and reduce exposure to unverified sellers.
According to the Saudi Business Center, the service advances transparency across e-commerce while protecting consumer interests and fostering a competitive business climate. It supports the prompt validation of legitimate commercial activities in line with regulatory requirements. The center oversees the Business Platform as the exclusive channel for such verifications, aligning with its mission to streamline procedures using global best practices.
Tawakkalna has expanded its digital offerings to more than 36 million users by consolidating services from multiple government and private entities into one platform. The store verification capability complements existing tools for reviewing commercial registrations through the Ministry of Commerce and validating invoices from the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority. These combined functions have made the app a primary gateway for everyday administrative and commercial tasks.
Businesses qualify for verification on the platform only if they hold an active commercial record or valid professional license paired with a dedicated commercial bank account. The Ministry of Commerce has stressed that verified stores gain access to expedited handling of consumer complaints via the dedicated app and 1900 reporting line. This requirement, refined since 2023, directs users away from transfers to personal accounts that often signal potential fraud.
The Saudi Business Center continues to develop initiatives that simplify business formation and operation throughout the kingdom. Its programs target improvements in Saudi Arabia’s rankings on international competitiveness metrics through efficient service delivery. Platform users can now incorporate the Tawakkalna verification step as standard practice before engaging with any online retailer.
