The Saudi Foreign Ministry reported that Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah met Michael Waltz, the United States Delegate to the United Nations, in Washington on Tuesday in the presence of Musaad Boulos, Senior Advisor to the US President for Arab and African Affairs. The two sides reviewed aspects of the bilateral relationship between Saudi Arabia and the United States. They discussed ways to strengthen cooperation across various fields while addressing recent regional developments.

The ministry added that the officials exchanged views on ongoing efforts to secure comprehensive and sustainable political solutions to challenges in the Middle East. This meeting took place days after Prince Faisal led the Saudi delegation at the high-level portion of the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York. The Saudi Press Agency stated that Prince Faisal participated in a multilateral gathering convened by US President Donald Trump during that session.

Arab News reported that Prince Faisal held talks with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio one day earlier in which the pair stressed the safeguarding of maritime security and freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab. Rubio indicated on social media that their conversation covered bilateral cooperation on regional security and stability, including matters related to Iran, Gaza, Sudan and Yemen. The Saudi Foreign Ministry noted that both sides reaffirmed the importance of continued coordination and consultation on shared interests.

The Saudi Press Agency detailed that the New York meeting attended by Prince Faisal focused on the latest developments in the Middle East with emphasis on regional escalation and its implications for security and stability. Participants reviewed steps to contain tensions, prevent broader conflict and bolster political and diplomatic initiatives to resolve ongoing crises. Saudi Ambassador to the United States Princess Reema bint Bandar joined Prince Faisal for several of the UN-related engagements.

The discussions with Waltz reflect a continued pattern of high-level Saudi-US diplomatic exchanges that have addressed both bilateral ties and multilateral concerns in recent months. Saudi officials have participated in parallel sessions at the United Nations that highlighted the need for collective action on peace and stability across the region. These conversations align with the Kingdom’s established role in supporting mediation and de-escalation initiatives.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry has previously outlined priorities that include advancing security, peace and uninterrupted global trade flows through key maritime routes. Meetings such as the one with Waltz contribute to alignment on these goals following the General Assembly gatherings. Senior advisors accompanied Prince Faisal, indicating the detailed nature of the agenda covered in Washington.
