The ministry said the visits aimed to verify compliance with the Petroleum and Petrochemical Materials Law along with regulations covering dry gas and liquefied petroleum gas distribution systems for residential and commercial purposes. Common violations included conducting operations without a license, transporting or selling materials via unlicensed carriers, engaging in unlicensed retail sales of LPG cylinders and utilizing petroleum products for purposes other than their designated use. No details on resulting penalties or facility closures were provided in the statement.

This July effort follows similar regulatory actions taken earlier in the year. The ministry’s media center reported that 152 gas stations were penalized and 12 were shut down for violations in February 2026. Inspection teams operate under the ministry’s supervision to maintain standards across the supply chain.

The announcement urged the public to report any suspected breaches using the 9961 hotline, the ministry’s official website or the Taqah application. Such reporting channels facilitate swift follow-up on potential irregularities in the petroleum products market. The ministry has promoted these avenues to support sector oversight.

Figures released by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development showed it conducted more than 250,000 inspection visits during the first quarter of 2026 and recorded more than 168,000 violations. The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority carried out over 60,000 inspection visits in the same quarter, that authority reported. These parallel campaigns reflect wider government efforts to address non-compliance across economic sectors.

The energy ministry’s work forms part of national oversight of the petroleum sector, which supplies both domestic needs and export markets. Ministry of Energy data places continued emphasis on field monitoring to uphold licensing requirements at every stage of distribution. Teams focus on licensed operators while identifying unauthorized activities that could affect supply integrity.
