El-Khereiji and Kozlov reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and discussed ways to strengthen them in a manner that serves their shared interests. The officials also talked about several issues of mutual interest at both the regional and international levels. This meeting highlights the sustained dialogue between Riyadh and Moscow on a wide range of topics.
Saudi Arabia and Russia have maintained a strategic partnership within the OPEC+ group since its inception in 2016, with joint production decisions helping to stabilize global oil prices according to OPEC data. The two powers have additionally coordinated on political matters including peace initiatives in the Middle East. In a separate session the same day, El-Khereiji met with Belarusian non-resident Ambassador Igor Peley according to the Saudi Press Agency. The two sides reviewed bilateral relations and considered avenues to strengthen and develop cooperation in various fields. Peley’s non-resident status means he conducts duties from another posting commonly seen in diplomatic practice for smaller missions. The discussion is expected to pave the way for expanded ties in economic and technical areas.
The Belarusian Foreign Ministry stated on July 27 2026 that its first deputy minister received the credentials of Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Belarus. This event underscored the mutual interest in closer political cooperation as reported by the Belarusian news agency BELTA.
