The General Authority for Statistics released data indicating Saudi Arabia registered a trade surplus of SR61.52 billion in the second quarter of 2026. According to GASTAT the surplus grew 62 percent from the second quarter of 2025. The authority’s bulletin placed exports at SR285.98 billion after a 4 percent annual increase and imports at SR224.46 billion following a 5 percent decline. Total trade reached SR510.44 billion during those three months.

GASTAT reported that the first quarter of 2026 produced a surplus of SR90.5 billion. That amount represented a 43.7 percent rise from the first quarter of 2025 when the surplus stood at SR63 billion. The authority noted substantial monthly variation within quarters.

The General Authority for Statistics bulletin for June within the second quarter showed a monthly surplus of SR17.3 billion. Exports that month stood at SR87.8 billion after a 4.5 percent drop from June 2025. Imports measured SR70.4 billion following a 3 percent reduction.

Japan received 13.2 percent of Saudi exports in June while China provided 22 percent of imports, GASTAT data showed. Non-oil exports including re-exports decreased 9.7 percent year on year in the month. The authority has published these partner and category details in each of its monthly trade updates.

The General Authority for Statistics produces the International Trade Bulletin on a regular schedule to document merchandise movements. Its releases form the official record consulted across government and private sectors. The Q2 2026 bulletin continues the sequence of reports issued throughout the year.
