Jeddah Municipality said in a statement that field teams discovered two rooms inside a residential property in the Al Jamiah district being used to sew, embroider and print counterfeit trademarks onto clothing. The teams seized and destroyed 1,029 counterfeit items there and confiscated eight machines. In addition 850 unbranded clothing items were donated to the Estidamah Food Preservation Association.

The second campaign targeted an illegal operation in an apartment inside a mixed residential and commercial building resulting in the seizure and destruction of 2,670 counterfeit branded items. In all the campaigns netted 3,699 items and 19 machines and pieces of equipment used for sewing, embroidery, printing and cutting with all violators referred to the relevant authorities. Yasser Bakhsh the director general of monitoring and addressing negative phenomena confirmed the details and the municipality carried out the campaigns with support from the Al Jamiah and Al Aziziyah municipalities in coordination with several other bodies.

Those bodies included the Zakat Tax and Customs Authority the Ministry of Commerce Civil Defense and the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property. The municipality said it will continue inspection campaigns targeting such activities operating from residential properties. A similar campaign in April netted over 3,000 counterfeit clothing items from makeshift workshops in southern Jeddah according to local reports.

An analysis by intellectual property consultancy Rouse found that the trade in counterfeits in Saudi Arabia accounts for 3.3 percent of the global counterfeit trade.
Saudi Customs destroyed more than two million counterfeit goods in 2020 including footwear clothes and mobile phone accessories. Saudi authorities announced the seizure of more than 3.6 million counterfeit goods in a coordinated enforcement campaign in December 2025.

The Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property sought to enhance the protection of intellectual property through the development of the enforcement system. Its annual report outlined steps taken to address trademark violations and other infringements. The authority has coordinated with municipalities and other ministries in these ongoing efforts.
