These municipal works encompass road paving, sidewalk construction, street lighting upgrades, park development and flood control systems that together seek to strengthen local infrastructure. The minister additionally oversaw housing project inaugurations totaling SR185.7 million and laid foundation stones for off-plan housing schemes amounting to SR150 million as part of the coordinated rollout.
Sixteen investment projects projected to generate SR284 million in revenue were included in the package, according to the ministry’s overview of the visit. Al-Hogail handed over 19 housing units to eligible beneficiaries and recognized donors supporting the Jood housing campaign in a ceremony tied to the events. The minister held discussions with regional officials, residents and business representatives to review service improvements and investment prospects across the area.
Al-Hogail toured local tourism sites to assess how municipal enhancements could support visitor experiences and sustainable growth, the ministry stated. The projects form part of sustained efforts that have seen the Al-Baha municipality complete 125 schemes valued at more than SR1.23 billion over the past five years, the regional secretary’s office has reported.
These latest investments align with the Housing Program’s push under Saudi Vision 2030 to lift homeownership rates among Saudi families to 70 percent, data from the National Platform for Housing indicate. The ministry has pursued similar project clusters in other regions to modernize urban services and expand affordable housing supply nationwide. Al-Baha’s rugged terrain and environmental considerations have shaped the design of many components, including flood mitigation features that address local topography challenges.
The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing continues to integrate quality-of-life upgrades with economic diversification objectives through such targeted deployments. Completed elements from the current batch have already entered service, providing immediate benefits to surrounding communities.
