The Saudi Press Agency reported that the delegation used the platform in Paris to highlight the university’s contributions to fostering values of tolerance and mutual respect among its international student body. The address detailed how the institution’s programs emphasize justice and human coexistence as core tenets of its curriculum. This presentation forms part of Saudi Arabia’s broader engagement with UNESCO on educational matters.

According to the report, the Saudi representative stressed that education serves as a vital instrument for achieving international peace and understanding. Saudi curricula are specifically designed to promote these ideals, the representative noted. The Islamic University of Madinah stands as a practical example of these principles in action, enrolling learners from diverse backgrounds.

University data places the number of represented nationalities at more than 90, a figure that underscores its global reach, the Public Relations Department at the institution stated in an earlier release. According to the university’s historical records, it was established by royal decree in 1961 and has trained generations of scholars who propagate moderate Islamic thought worldwide. Such efforts align with national initiatives to enhance the kingdom’s role in global cultural dialogue.

The 224th session of the UNESCO Executive Board covered multiple agenda items related to heritage, education and scientific cooperation, the Saudi Press Agency reported. Saudi Arabia’s intervention drew attention to successful domestic models that could inform international policy. The delegation’s remarks received positive attention from participating member states, the agency indicated.

Educational statistics compiled by the Ministry of Education show increasing enrollment of international students in Saudi institutions over the past decade. The ministry has reported steady growth in scholarship programs aimed at foreign students. These programs complement the university’s mission as outlined in the UNESCO presentation.

The university has also expanded partnerships with academic institutions in various countries, including recent agreements with Islamic centers in Europe and Asia, according to the Saudi Press Agency. These collaborations focus on joint research and student exchanges. Such initiatives further reinforce the message delivered at the UNESCO session.
