The King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity reported that Ali Ahmed Baouzir from the Riyadh General Directorate of Education and Ali Salem Al Yamy from the Najran General Directorate of Education each secured a silver medal at the competition. Abdulaziz Badr Al Juaid from the Madinah General Directorate of Education and Mujtaba Abdulilah Al Tarouti from the Eastern Region General Directorate of Education earned bronze medals in the event that featured 363 students from 92 countries. The foundation noted that these four awards bring Saudi Arabia’s cumulative total at the International Chemistry Olympiad to 53, consisting of 17 silver medals, 34 bronze medals and two honorable mentions.
Mawhiba, as the foundation is known, partnered with the Ministry of Education to deliver an intensive year-long preparation program for the national team under the Mawhiba International Olympiads initiative. Participants engaged in a series of theoretical and practical training forums along with specialized camps held both inside the kingdom and abroad. This regimen equipped the students to compete at the highest level in one of the world’s foremost chemistry contests.
The foundation described the results as evidence of the advanced scientific capabilities developed by Saudi students through structured talent development initiatives.
