The Ministry of Commerce announced the recall of 6215 Hyundai Azera vehicles on October 1, 2026, targeting models produced from 2023 through 2025. According to the ministry, the campaign addresses a defect in the fastening of fuel pipe nuts that may result in fuel leaking close to the exhaust system. This condition increases the chance of a fire breaking out while the vehicle operates. The ministry framed the measure as part of its routine consumer protection initiatives that monitor vehicle safety across the Saudi market. Similar actions have addressed comparable defects in other brands in recent months.

Owners of the affected sedans must verify whether their specific vehicle falls under the recall by entering its identification number into the Recalls.sa platform. The Ministry of Commerce operates the online tool to let consumers check for active campaigns on cars and other goods without needing to visit government offices. Data from the platform shows it has processed thousands of such inquiries since its launch as part of broader efforts to safeguard public safety. Once an affected vehicle is confirmed, the owner should arrange repairs promptly. The ministry stressed that all corrective work will be performed at no cost to the customer.

Authorized distributors will carry out the fixes, with the ministry naming three main points of contact for Hyundai vehicles in the Kingdom. Al-Wallan can be reached at 8001240401 for customers in certain regions while Almajdouie stands ready at 8003040777 and Mohamed Yousuf Naghi operates its service line at 8001240191. These dealers maintain the necessary parts and technical instructions issued under the recall. The ministry instructed all three networks to prioritize appointments for the affected Azera models to minimize disruption for drivers.

This latest recall follows a pattern of vehicle safety campaigns run by the Ministry of Commerce throughout 2026. In September the ministry ordered the return of 4464 Genesis sport utility vehicles and sedans for a nearly identical fuel cross-pipe mounting defect that also carried fire risks, a step reported across regional outlets including Gulf News. Earlier in the year the ministry pulled 1791 Kia Sportage units over high-pressure fuel pipe problems and separately recalled 857 Hyundai models for instrument cluster malfunctions that could hide critical dashboard warnings. Such figures illustrate the scale of oversight applied to the growing automotive fleet in Saudi Arabia.

The Azera, positioned as a full-size executive sedan within the Hyundai lineup, has maintained a steady presence in the local market where imported and assembled vehicles undergo strict conformity checks by Saudi authorities. Public Authority for Statistics data places annual new vehicle registrations in the millions, heightening the importance of timely defect notifications. The Ministry of Commerce coordinates these recalls with manufacturers and distributors to ensure uniform implementation. Owners who have already experienced related symptoms are encouraged to contact their dealer immediately rather than wait for a formal notice. The campaign remains open for all qualifying vehicles regardless of mileage or registration date.

Further details on the technical remedy will be supplied directly by the distributors once a vehicle identification number is validated through the official channel. The ministry has not released an estimated completion timeline for the full recall but indicated that parts availability has been secured in advance. Consumers seeking additional clarification can visit the Recalls.sa site or reach out to the listed hotlines. This proactive stance aligns with the Kingdom’s wider regulatory framework designed to maintain high safety standards across all road users.
