The Saudi Venture Capital Company released its report titled Global Investment in Saudi Arabia’s Private Markets, which detailed the foreign investment figures for 2025. The SAR20 billion ($5.3 billion) in foreign private capital accounted for approximately 60 percent of the total private capital invested in the Kingdom that year. This achievement marks a significant step in the expansion of Saudi Arabia’s private capital ecosystem as outlined in the Vision 2030 framework, the report found.

According to the SVC document, the inflows stem from nearly 150 institutions based in the United States, Europe and Asia that have entered the Saudi market. These participants have moved beyond a regional focus to view the Kingdom as a standalone investment destination. The assessment found this shift driven by a combination of regulatory enhancements and economic diversification initiatives under the national program.

SVC Chief Executive Officer Nora Alsarhan commented on the development in the report. “Saudi Arabia’s private markets have entered a defining phase. International capital now treats the Kingdom as a destination in its own right, with nearly 150 institutions from the US, Europe, and Asia joining a market once anchored regionally,” she said. The statement underscores the maturation of the investment landscape.

The Saudi Press Agency disseminated the SVC findings from Riyadh on July 1, 2026. The report analyzes investment activity across venture capital, private equity and private debt markets while identifying key factors behind Saudi Arabia’s appeal to global investors. Saudi Venture Capital Company data places the foreign share at 60 percent of overall private investment recorded during the period.

Established as a government-backed entity, the Saudi Venture Capital Company has worked since its founding to develop a robust local investment landscape. The 2025 performance continues upward trends in attracting overseas participants, according to the SVC report. Such foreign engagement supports innovation and sector growth across multiple industries including technology and healthcare.

Arab News coverage of the SVC report noted its focus on the drivers propelling Saudi Arabia forward as an investment hub. The publication highlighted how the figures reflect sustained international interest amid the Kingdom’s ongoing economic reforms. This activity aligns with broader efforts to elevate the private sector’s role in national development.
