The Ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia conveyed warm greetings to King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the Saudi people in a message marking the Kingdom’s National Day. In the statement issued by the Embassy of India in Riyadh, Ambassador Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan described the longstanding historical and cultural connections between the two countries that have deepened over decades. The ambassador noted that recent high-level engagements have elevated the relationship to a strategic partnership focused on mutual interests.
Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan pointed to the visits of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to India in 2023 and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Saudi Arabia in 2025 as key milestones that opened new avenues for collaboration. According to the message, these interactions have reinforced commitments in political, economic and security domains. The ambassador expressed confidence that such engagements will continue to drive progress for both nations.
Bilateral trade has grown to more than $41 billion, a figure the Ministry of External Affairs assessment placed as evidence of the complementary economic relationship. Saudi Arabia serves as a vital energy supplier to India, providing a substantial share of its crude oil imports, the ambassador stated. The message highlighted potential for further growth in non-oil trade, investments and sectors aligned with Saudi Vision 2030 and India’s development priorities.
The Indian community in the Kingdom, which numbers over 2.6 million according to embassy records, forms a living bridge between the two societies, Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan said. These expatriates contribute to Saudi Arabia’s growth across multiple fields while strengthening people-to-people relations. The ambassador thanked the community for its role in sustaining the robust partnership.
The statement from the Indian Embassy emphasised shared aspirations for regional peace, stability and prosperity amid ongoing global challenges. Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan extended best wishes for the continued advancement of Saudi Arabia under its leadership. A PwC review of GCC-India ties has previously identified such diplomatic messaging as reflective of sustained momentum in bilateral cooperation across trade, energy and strategic areas.
