The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the kingdom underlines the importance of the immediate, sustained and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. The statement rejected any use of aid as a means of collective punishment or a tool for political pressure. It added that the Palestinian issue remains at the heart of the conflict in the Middle East and that achieving a just and lasting peace requires the implementation of the two-state solution along with the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The Arab Group through the Saudi statement reiterated its rejection of settlement policies, land confiscation, forced displacement and the targeting of civilians. Saudi Arabia affirmed the invalidity of all attempts to impose Israeli sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territories or to alter the legal and historical status of Jerusalem and its holy sites. The kingdom expressed its welcome for international efforts aimed at achieving a permanent ceasefire including American efforts.

Speaking on behalf of the Arab Group the Saudi representative called on the UN Security Council to assume its responsibilities in maintaining international peace and security. The statement stressed the need to implement relevant resolutions including Resolution 2334. The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the implementation of international legal obligations must contribute to protecting the Palestinian people and supporting prospects for peace and stability in the Middle East region.

The position was outlined during the emergency session of the Security Council on the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has consistently positioned the Palestinian cause as central to regional stability in its diplomatic engagements. This latest intervention aligns with the kingdom’s longstanding support for Palestinian rights through international forums.

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has implemented about 160 projects in Palestine valued at nearly half a billion dollars according to a Saudi advisor addressing a high-level roundtable in New York. The Saudi Press Agency reported that the kingdom has provided $120 million in direct support to the Palestinian government in addition to continuing its support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East. The advisor highlighted Saudi concerns over the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in Gaza as winter approaches and the need for regular unobstructed delivery of aid without preconditions.

A Saudi advisor participating in the roundtable titled From Sharm El-Sheikh to Phase Two Consolidating Peace and Early Recovery renewed the kingdom’s commitment to supporting efforts for a ceasefire in Gaza. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs through its envoy emphasized enhancing the humanitarian response and creating conditions for early recovery and reconstruction. The statement called for adherence to relevant international agreements and resolutions in all such efforts.
